Senior Sweetheart
World War II Veteran Honored
Chautauqua County’s Senior Sweetheart this year is Richard “Dick” Reardon. Reardon and his wife celebrated their 76th anniversary in August. She has been a resident of Heritage Green for the past year and he leaves home every day at 7:45 a.m. to go be with her for breakfast and lunch. He does not leave her side until she naps in the afternoon. Reardon turned 98 on Sunday and is a World War II veteran. He was recently given an Honor Flight to Washington, D.C. The flight recognizes American veterans for their sacrifices and flies them to see their memorials at no cost. Pictured are members of the Jamestown Harmony Express barbershop chorus members Jerry Newburg and Ray Shield, at left, Reardon, Pat Madonia, Janet Woodward’s sister who nominated Reardon for the award, and Scott Lumia of Brookdale of Lakewood.
