Lake Bill Won’t Pass This Year

Assemblyman Joe Sempolinski, R-Canisteo, speaks on the Assembly floor earlier this session. This week, Sempolinski voted in favor of legislation that would have exempted Chautauqua Lake and other freshwater lakes from the state’s Freshwater Wetlands Act, but the bill was defeated in committee by a 19-8 vote and won’t move to the Assembly floor.
