U.S. Army Pfc. Joseph Dwyer is depicted carrying a wounded Iraqi child to safety during the first week of the Iraq War in March 2003. After his return from combat, Dwyer struggled with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and a traumatic brain injury (TBI), ultimately leading him to take his own life.
