Gladys L. Nohlquist, 96, of Winter Haven, Fla., died Wednesday, July 7, 2021, at Life Care Center of Winter Haven. She was born on Aug. 24, 1924, the daughter of Lugwig and Almeda Pearson of Sinclairville, N.Y.
She was veteran of the U.S. Army and served from 1945-49 as a medical assistant. Gladys was also a member of the Winter Haven American Legion. After raising a family, she put herself thru school and became an license practical nurse. When she retired she moved to Florida, from Celoron, N.Y. in 2000. She lived a full life with family and friends.
Gladys is survived by her children: Marie Walters of Winter Haven, Fla., Sylvia (Ronald) Peacock of Sinclairville, N.Y., Donna Zofchak of Winter Haven, Fla/, and Eileen Newton of Silver Creek, N.Y.; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Beside her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Nohlquist; a sister ,June Ruland; a son, Donald L Newton Jr.; and two sons-in-laws: Gregory Walters and Henry(Bud)Zofchak.
A celebration of her life will be held at 12:30-1:30 p.m., (Saturday, Aug. 21, 2021, in the chapel at Sunset Hill Cemetery, Lakewood, N.Y.
