Ann Marie (Dunning) Blaisdell

Ann Marie (Dunning) Blaisdell was welcomed home by her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, April 17, 2024, a celebration we can only imagine.

She was born on June 29,1942 in Hornell NY, the daughter of Walter and Catherine (Osman) Dunning.

Ann was a graduate of the Frewsburg Central School Class of 1960, and earned her RN License which she kept active until 2023. She served alongside her husband “Dr. Bill” on numerous medical missions to Guatemala and Haiti. Lovingly known as “Anna Banana” to her friends and family, she spent countless hours devoted to providing care, education and kindness; sharing the love of Jesus and the word of the Gospel to all with whom she became acquainted, but especially the people of Haiti who were so dear to her heart.

Ann leaves behind her five sons and beloved daughters-in-law, Steven and Deb Darling of Jamestown, Jeffrey and Peggy Darling of Frewsburg and Nome AK, Daniel and Emilie Darling of Fort Pierce, Matthew and Jimcy Platholi Blaisdell of Brooklyn, David and Sun Kyung Park Blaisdell of Seoul, Korea. Her Husband’s children who she loved as her own, Susan and husband Richard Scriven of Westfield and Robert Shelby Blaisdell and wife Julia. Grandchildren Danielle, Tara, Mike, Brandon, Riley and Shelby; great-grandchildren, Luna, Ari, Jonah, Luthien and Grayson. Her sister Mary and husband Ron Gabalski of Frewsburg and many nieces, nephews and cousins who adored her.

She is also survived by many dear friends including members of the Jesus in Haiti Ministries(JIHM), fellowship of Kings Baptist Church in Vero Beach and neighbors from the many places she called home during her lifetime. Everyone she met became a friend and all will feel her loss immensely.

Ann was reunited in death with her parents, her sisters Linda Dunning Finwood and Susan Dunning Waid, her husband of 45 years, Dr. William Blaisdell, sons Stephen and Mark, daughter-in-law Emily Darling, as well as her first husband, Gary Darling.

Committal Service will be held for Ann and Bill on Saturday, May 18, 2024, at the Sunset Hill Cemetery in Lakewood NY, with a Celebration of Life to follow at 12:00 Noon at the Busti Victorian Hall 835 Mill Road, Jamestown NY.
