Dr. Patricia J. Fales, 84, of Falconer passed away unexpectedly Thursday (May 9, 2024) in her home.

She was born January 30, 1940 in Warren, PA, the daughter of the late Egil Myregaard and Edith Eliane Kahle Jensen.

Pat was a graduate of Frewsburg High School. Then completing a Bachelor of Science at Michigan State University and in 1966 graduating MSU Veterinary College with a Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine. She along with her late husband Dr. Roger R. Fales owned and operated the Falconer Veterinary Clinic. Since 1998 practicing alongside with her daughter, Mary Fales, DVM.

Pat was a member of the NYS Veterinary Medical Association, American Veterinary Medical Association, Chautauqua County Veterinary Association, Falconer Beautification Committee from 1987-2017 having served as Chair, Falconer Village Library Board serving for 40 years having served as President and being honored with the position of President Emeritus. She was also a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church for many years being active on church council, church choir, and setting up endowments for the church. Later in life she returned to Frewsburg and became active at Zion Lutheran Church. She was very proud of her theology studies and earned the title of Deacon in the Evangelica Lutheran Church.

She taught Veterinary Science for 4-H for several years and taught at Jamestown Community College in the Science Labs and swimming instruction. Pat enjoyed reading, often saying, “I’ll be right there almost done with this chapter.” She also enjoyed traveling with her husband Roger and other veterinarians to Kenya, Egypt, The Soviet Union, The Galapagos, Costa Rica, Australia, and Denmark.

Surviving are her daughter Dr. Mary Fales (Jason Helms) of Falconer; her step son Roger R. (Anna) Fales Jr. of Falconer; six grandchildren: Sarah (Phil) Gott, Thomas (Becca) Fales, Katherine Fales, Waylon Wilshire, Christian Wilshire, and Brynn Helms; one great grandchild Phaedra Gott; nieces Katherine Kirck and Cheryll DiVincenzo, and nephew Todd Adams.

She was preceded in death by her husband Dr. Roger R. Fales whom she married June 18, 1960, who passed away January 2, 2010 and her sister Linda Adams.

Friends will be received by the family from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday in the Falconer Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. Monday in the funeral home. Rev. Phil Roushey of Zion Lutheran Church, Frewsburg will officiate. Inurnment will be in Pine Hill Cemetery at a later date.
