Harriett L. Lank

Harriett L. Lank

Harriett L. Lank, 85, passed away Sunday evening, June 23, 2024 at UPMC Hamot.

A lifelong Jamestown resident, Harriett was born February 26, 1939 to the late Arnold and Bessie Waite Anderson.

She lovingly built a tight-knit family of her own that she upheld with pride. This compassion included sharing a home with her daughter, Debra Slagle, for the last 25 years. Harriett will be fondly remembered for her exhilarated pace when behind a shopping cart and for her affection for snacks, especially Cella’s Chocolate Covered Cherries.

Harriett was an accomplished seamstress, both out of her home and as the sewing supervisor at The Resource Center, for decades. Her prowess will be cherished by all the people she touched over the years.

Notably, the Chautauqua Lake Fishing Association was pleased to call Harriett their last living founder and life member up until her passing.

Besides her daughter Debra of Jamestown, Harriett is survived by a son, William Lank of Jamestown; brother Alan Anderson of South Carolina; and several grandchildren and great grandchildren. Truly, Harriett was the community grandma to everyone, intentionally spreading love not only to her own family, but to their friends as well.

Harriett was preceded in death by her parents; a son Jeffrey Feldt of Ashville; and brothers Lyle and Richard Anderson.

In keeping with Harriett’s wishes, no visitation or memorial service will be observed.

Burial will be in Lake View Cemetery.
