Wayne Sanford

Wayne Sanford passed away peacefully with his family at his side on September 24, 2008 in Tucson AZ.

He was born January 12, 1928 in Jamestown, NY to Harold and Irene Sanford. Wayne was an intelligent man who loved a challenge and always had a head for business. He attended Chicago Technical School and Alfred University. He ran several successful companies in Jamestown, including Sans Corporation, Jamestown Pipe and Supply, Circle Mechanical and Union National. A tall man with a huge heart and a quiet, gentle presence, Wayne was full of energy and enthusiasm. He was always looking at what he could do or how he could help others. He was an active Rotarian for many years, a 32nd Degree Mason in the Mt. Moriah Lodge, taught Sunday School and was an active member of Brooklyn Heights United Methodist Church and served his country proudly in the Army during the Korean War. Always a devoted family man, Wayne is survived by his wife of 60 years, Barbara Sanford, his daughters Lory Lasica and Lisa Sanford, seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brother, Gordon Sanford.
