George H. Littlefield
George H. Littlefield, 91, formerly of Frewsburg, passed away on Saturday, July 6, 2024 at Heritage Village Rehab Skilled Nursing Facility.
He was born on June 5, 1933 in Jamestown, the son of the late Harold E. and Gladys Comstock Littlefield.
George is a 1952 graduate of Frewsburg Central School and was a veteran of the US Marine Corps.
Prior to retirement in 1998, he was employed for many years at Zahm & Matson as a farm equipment mechanic and in earlier years had worked at Kennedy Tractor. He was a member of Clarks Corners Community Church.
He had coached softball for summer and farm leagues and could always be found tinkering with a tractor or repairing hay balers.
George is survived by his children Linnea (Andy) Phillips of TN, Gene (Debbe) Littlefield of Jamestown, Janis (Jamie) Johnson of IA, Yvonne (Dave) Himes of Frewsburg, Kathleen (Bob) Black of Kennedy, Clarice (Stu) Wilkinson of Syracuse; 26 grandchildren Rachel (CJ) Lockhart, Joel (Tatianna) Phillips, Ethan (Devin) Phillips, Ashlee (Dean) Buchanan, Jesse(Lisa) Phillips, Eli Phillips, Hannah (Nathan) Imlay, Abigail (Jake) Fancher, Mathew (Amber) Littlefield, Travis (Shelby) Littlefield, Rylee Littlefield, Jacob (Lauren) Johnson, Elizabeth (Joseph) Bailey, John (Keely) Johnson, Victoria (Alec) Hanson, Susan (Nikolaus) Hankins, Joseph Johnson, Samantha (Mike) Ulrich, Shawn (Krista Johnson) Himes, Shelby (Andrew Telford) Himes, Jessica (Ken) Platt, Jennifer (Stephen) Burton, Zach (Khrista) Black, Aaron (Chelsea) Wilkinson, Briana Wilkinson, and Caleb Wilkinson; one step-grandson Ron Fish; one step-granddaughter Heather Ball; 48 great-grandchildren; and a sister Doris Sweetheimer.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Beverly J. Taft Littlefield, who passed away on Nov. 15, 2016; a granddaughter Anna Beth Kapuscinski; a step-grandson Jeremy Fish; and two sisters Lois Kesby and Jean Gagliano.
A funeral service will be held at 2 pm on Saturday, July 13, 2024 in the Clarks Corners Community Church, Kennedy. The Rev. Walter Venman will officiate. Burial will be in Ivory Cemetery, Frewsburg.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 pm on Friday, July 12 in the Peterson Funeral Home, Frewsburg and for one hour prior to the service, from 1-2 pm, on Saturday in the church.
