Jeffrey Robert Stewart
Jeffrey Robert Stewart, of Jamestown, NY, passed away peacefully on July 18, 2024, in the care of the Resource Center on Foote Ave at the age of 39. Born on July 31, 1984, at WCA hospital in Jamestown, NY, he spoke volumes about joy, love and laughter without saying a word.
Throughout his youth, Jeffrey was an active participant in both the Special Olympics and the Soap Box Derby. In 2005, he graduated from BOCES in Ashville, NY, and continued his residence at The Resource Center, in Jamestown, NY.
Jeffrey had an unmatched fondness and appreciation for our local fire departments, emergency services, and the STAT MedEvac program. He spent countless hours watching then reenacting the heroes of emergency videos and television series and dropped everything at the sound of a siren clearing the way. He also lived for parties and any celebration, thoroughly enjoying parades and any opportunity to dress up in any number of costumes he owned. Most Sunday’s he could be found spending the day with family, including a trip to the store for a special slice of cake and an ice-cold milkshake.
Jeffrey enthusiastically interacted with everyone he met. Whether he knew you or not, you were greeted with a hug, an infectious smile, and a giggle that bore the sound of pure happiness.
Jeffrey was preceded in death by his father, Gregory Stewart, his sister-in-law, Jennifer Newhall, his aunt, Consuelo Stewart and his Uncle Robert Stewart.
He is survived by his mother, Barbara Rissel Stewart, brothers John (Amy) Newhall III, Frederick (Brenda) Stewart, Uncles Jim (Sharon) Rissel, David Stewart, Paul (Carol) Stevenson, Olivia and Jack Newhall, Elaine and Bryan Rissel and many other nieces, nephews and cousins, and his caring Resource Center family.
Visitation will be held at Lind Funeral Home, 805 West Third St., Jamestown, NY on Tuesday July 23 from 6-8PM and on Wednesday July 24, at 1PM at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, on 841 Forest Ave., followed by a funeral at 2PM.
