Susan Harvuot
CHAUTAUQUA- Susan Harvuot, 80, of Chautauqua, NY, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, July 9, 2024, at the Suburban Nursing Home in Williamsville, NY. She was born March 9, 1944, in New York City, the daughter of the late Clifford Tribble and Nellis DeLay Harvuot.
She was a 1962 Graduate of Spring Valley High School, NY. She then completed her undergraduate work at Oberlin College and earned a Masters in Costume Design from Mount Holyoke College in South Hadley, MA. In earlier years Suzy was a costume mistress at Stage West, a theatre in West Springfield, MA and for the Metropolitan Opera in NYC. She was a member of the Chautauqua Bird, Tree and Garden Club at the Chautauqua Institution and enjoyed tending to her flowers, was an avid reader, gifted artist and a wonderful cook.
Susan is survived by her brother, Clifford “Kip” Harvuot of Lancaster, PA, and several cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents.
A graveside memorial service will be held in September at the Chautauqua Cemetery and will be announced.
