Douglas C. Wigren, 56, of West Ellicott, passed away Thursday August 1, 2024, in his home surrounded by his loving family.
He was born January 8, 1968, in Buffalo, NY , the son of Shirley Lundmark Wigren and the late Carl C. Wigren.
Doug was a 1986 graduate from Jamestown High School. Following high school, he joined the U.S. Army in 1987, he served until he was honorably discharged in 1996. During his time in active duty he served overseas in the Persian Gulf war.
He was currently employed by the United States Postal Service as a Customer Service Supervisor.
Doug was a fun and caring son, husband and father and treated everyone with humanity and kindness. He loved spending time golfing, cooking, playing his guitar and making wine.
Besides his mother he is survived by his wife Marializ Rodriguez Wigren, his two sons: Drew Wigren and Marcus Lugo-Wigren; his daughter Gabrielle Wigren; his nephews: Nate Wigren and Collin Abbott.
Besides his father he is preceded in death by his sister Debra Lynn Wigren in 2016.
The funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday August 10, 2024, in the Lind Funeral Home. Friends will be received on Friday from 4pm to 7pm at the funeral home.
The burial will be held at Pine Grove Cemetery in Russell, PA.
A celebration of Doug’s life will be held at the Celoron Moose Lodge following the burial.
Memorials can be made to Family Service of the Chautauqua Region.
Pastor Mike Kerzee from Kidder Memorial Church and Pastor Al Pagan from Sublime Gracia will officiate the service.
