Irving Clinton Lee Burgeson, 93, of 477 Blockville Watts Flats Road, Ashville, passed on to be with our Heavenly Father, Friday August 16, 2024, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born April 2, 1931, in Jamestown, a son of the late Clair and Genevra Lee Burgeson. He was a 1949 graduate of Jamestown High School.
Prior to his retirement he was employed by MRC/TRW/SKF as a Skilled Machine Repairman where he achieved his 40-year Service Award.
He was a member of the Watts Flats United Methodist Church, Coachmen Camping Club, Thule Lodge, and Harmony Odd Fellows for several years. He enjoyed singing and participated in the MRC Chorus.
He was a very talented mechanic and could repair almost anything. His favorites were his Allis Chalmers tractor and his 87 Ford Truck. Although his time was sometimes limited, he was always offering to help his friends and family when in need. He enjoyed spending time cutting, splitting and stacking his firewood for the Winter season. His other interest included camping, square dancing, ballroom dancing, snowmobiling, tinkering in his tool shed, feeding and watching the birds. He also was a very supportive and a passionate Panama wrestling fan. After retirement he was very happy that he could spend more time with his Family, Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren.
Surviving are two children Jon Burgeson (Michael Jones) of Jamestown and Christine Stebbins of Watts Flats; nine grandchildren Baylee Stebbins of Watts Flats, Logan Stebbins (Holly Nelson) of Hamburg NY, Scott Burgeson of Rochester, NY, Mark (JR) Burgeson of Ashville, Reede Burgeson (Jennifer) of Lakewood, Tia Kester (Chris Pellerito) of Jamestown, Shaen Burgeson (Vanessa) of Maricopa, AZ, Shawn Burgeson (Stacey) of Clarksville TN, Tara Quinn (Cy) of Cadiz KY and several great grandchildren; a sister Louise Burgeson and a daughter in law Cheryl Burgeson.
He was preceded in death by his wife Donna Cheney Burgeson, whom he married August 23, 1952, and who passed October 20, 2016; two sons Daniel Burgeson February 19, 2012, and Timothy Burgeson October 12, 2011, and a brother Clair Burgeson, Jr.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm August 29, 2024, in the Lind Funeral Home.
Friends will be received prior to the service from 12:00 to 2:00.
Fellowship reunion will be held following the service at Watts Flats United Methodist Church.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Watts Flats United Methodist Church or the Panama Volunteer Fire Department.
