James D. Bloomquist

Jim was born April 8, 1941 in Jamestown, NY to Roland and Lois (Eckwahl) Bloomquist.

A 1959 graduate of Jamestown High School, Jim also received a degree from J.C.C.

Jim worked his entire career at Blackstone/Valeo of Jamestown where he ran the Radiator Test Lab. He was also Project Manager in the construction of the state of the art Wind Tunnel in Jamestown.

He loved gardening, bird watching and star gazing. After retirement, Jim fully restored his dream car, a 1970 Dodge Challenger R/T SE.

Jim is survived by his wife of 47 years Jessie (Hedges) and their children: David (Jane) of Fredonia, NY, Rodney Bloomquist (Melody) of North East, PA, Brenda Prell of Marion, IL, James Jay (Sara) Smith of Davenport, FL, Catharine (David) Carroll of Ocala, FL, and Robert Smith of Virginia Beach, VA. He is also survived by his brother William (Mary) Bloomquist of Roseville, CA, Aunt Marilyn Palmquist of Lakewood, NY, 11 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and granddaughter Emily Catharine Smith.

Being a generous man, Jim has donated his body to the pursuit of Medicine.
