Joseph David Cortright

Joseph attended Ithaca High School, Jamestown Community College and BOCES LPN Program. He pursued various professions before finding his calling in healthcare. From 2002 to 2018, Joseph served compassionately as a Licensed Practical Nurse at Soldiers and Sailors Home in Erie, PA as well as several area group homes.

Beyond his professional life, Joe was an avid history enthusiast and an ardent animal lover, with a particular fondness for tigers. His hobbies not only brought him joy but also enriched the lives of his family and those around him with endless stories and trivia.

Joe leaves behind his wife of 41 years, Teresa Lawn Cortright of Jamestown, and sons Jesse Cortright of Ithaca, Alec Cortright of Jamestown, and Quintin Cortright (Richard Pierce) of Sugar Grove Pa. He is also survived by his sisters Dianne Beberaggi of Wilmington, NC, Patricia Johnson of Tucker, GA, and Vickie (Phil) Starkweather of Marietta, GA. and grandchildren Hanna and Clay Cortright of Ithaca NY. He will also be remembered by many nieces, nephews, and in-laws.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Dorla Cortright Zeh and David Cortright, and brothers-in-law Amado Beberaggi and David Johnson.

As per Joseph’s request, no funeral or memorial services will be held. Donations in his memory may be made to Chautauqua Hospice and Palliative Care.
