Stanley Thomas Sr.

Stanley Thomas Sr., 58, of Jamestown, NY, passed peacefully at Buffalo General Hospital after acourageous and lengthy battle with Al Amyloidosis

Stanley was born in Dunkirk, NY on April 25th, 1966 and resided in Jamestown, NY with his beloved wife of 32 years, Susan Renee Thomas. Aside from his wife, Stanley is survived by four children, 12 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren: Gabrielle M. Thomas (Ne’Kyle and Kylee Taylor), Stanley Thomas Jr., Travis J. Spencer (Jordan, Jayla, Amiyah, Julian, and Journey), and Silk E. Spencer (Tatiana, Chyanne, Jazlyn, Jeremiah, Katorah, Marcus, and Xander). Stanley’s surviving siblings include Rudy Mitchell (Amy), Steven Thomas, and ReginaldThomas, all of Jamestown, NY; Jason Thomas of Las Vegas, NV; Karlton Thomas of Auburn,NY; and a sister, Susan Thomas of Buffalo, NY. Stanley also leaves behind many aunts, uncles,nieces, nephews and cousins.

Stanley was preceded in death by his parents, Edward N. Thomas and Minnie Mitchell; a brother, Rodney Thomas; and a sister, Jennifer Thomas.

Before his illness, Stanley was employed by the Resource Center, National Wire, and Support Enterprises. All those who knew Stanley realized that his greatest love was for his family. He cherished taking vacations and spending time with his wife, children, and grandchildren. He was an avid Miami Dolphins fan and also enjoyed cooking, barbecuing, fishing, and tinkering in hisgarage. Moreover, Stanley was known for his extraordinary fortitude, exceptional strength, and positive attitude while combating his illness.

The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 13th in the Lind Funeral Home. Burial will be in Lake View Cemetery. Friends will be received from 1-3 and 5-7 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home.
