John L. “Woody” Wood
John L. “Woody” Wood, 65 of Falconer passed away Wednesday (October 16, 2024) in UPMC Chautauqua after a brief illness.
A lifelong area resident he was born November 3, 1958 in Jamestown, the son of the late Alvin and Dorothy Rowley Wood.
Woody attended Falconer High School and was owner of Wood’s Detailing. He was a member of the Son’s of The American Legion. Woody enjoyed working on cars, going to races, hunting, camping, and cooking.
He is survived by his sister Judith Woncki of Syracuse, three brothers: Rich (Mary) Wood of Kennedy, Douglas (Connie) Wood of Falconer, Michael Wood of Youngsville, PA; several nieces, nephews; his ex-wife Linda and her four children whom he helped raise.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers: James and Gordon Wood, and his twin sister Joan L. Wood.
The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Monday in the Falconer Funeral Home followed by a funeral service at 12 p.m. (Noon) in the funeral home. Burial will be in Pine Hill Cemetery.
