Joyce M. Cummings
Joyce M. Cummings, 81, passed away Saturday, October 5, 2024, at UPMC Hamot inErie, PA. She was born January 28, 1943, in Daytona Beach, FL, to John and VirginiaHumfrey Sandlin.
A kind-hearted woman, Joyce was an extremely generous soul. She gave everythingshe had, even when that meant going without for herself. Family was the center of Joyce’s life. Spending quality time with her loved ones was her happiest charge; moreover, for her, it did not matter what the family was doing so long as they weretogether. Dove tailing on her familial fondness, Joyce fancied genealogy. An honest, southern sassy woman, Joyce will be remembered for her witty nature. Her come backs were quick and spot on, even just days before her passing. Regardless of past experiences or short comings, Joyce’s loyalty remained to everyone in her life. Her faith played a centering role in her life, as she prayed constantly, throughevery day and each wide-ranging happenstance. For many years, Joyce remained an active member of the Church of Christ in Holly Hill, FL.
Joyce leaves behind her sons, David Cummings, Jr. and Dana (Sherri) Cummings; her daughter-in- law, Jeanine Woodard; grandchildren: Hannah (Allen) Pavolko, Ty (Lindsay) Cummings, Jennifer Cummings (Mike Henry), Tabitha (Ryan) Minadeo, Meg Cummings,Devan Cummings, and Molly Cummings; great-grandchildren: Lincoln and Nora, Ezra and Adalynn, Liam, and Grace and Willow; brothers, Bob Sandlin and Calvin Sandlin;many nieces and nephews; and her dearest “like-sister,” Suzie Martin.
