Daniel Geigert of Busti, NY, a devoted follower of Christ, passed away unexpectedly at Hamot Medical Center of Erie PA, into the arms of Jesus January 3, 2025. He was a loving and caring husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend to many.
Daniel enjoyed gardening, puzzles, playing games with family, bird watching, hiking, going to Bethany Beach and being outdoors.
Daniel was born October 23, 1946, in Philadelphia, PA to Elwood and Hattie Geigert. He was a 1964 graduate from Frankford High School. He also went to Baptist Bible Seminary in Clark Summit, PA in 1969 and Westminster Theological Seminary. Daniel began his career as a pastor at Ellery Baptist Church in Ellery, NY. He also worked as the maintenance supervisor for over 40 years at Manor Oak Skilled Nursing before taking a job at Cummins Engine from which he retired.
Daniel met Cynthia, the love of his life, in 1966 and they were married on August 3, 1968. They were dedicated members of Lakewood Baptist Church for over 40 years in which Daniel served as a deacon, teacher, usher, and was on the Grace Retirement Homes board.
Daniel and Cynthia were blessed with a son, Timothy Geigert, of Lakewood, NY, a daughter, Ruth Geigert Agnoli, of Dandridge, TN, and son-in-law Christopher Agnoli of Dandridge, TN. Daniel was the “best dad” ever to his son and daughter and did so much for both of them.
Surviving also are his three grandchildren: Kassandra, Kody, and Nicolas; and five great grandchildren, three brothers: John (Nicki) Geigert, David (Debbie) Geigert and Philip Geigert; several nieces, and nephews. he funeral will be held 2 pm Thursday January 9, 2025, at Lakewood Baptist Church, 150 Erie St. Lakewood, NY 14750. The family will receive friends and family for one hour prior to the service from 1 to 2 pm at church. The funeral will be officiated by Pastor Nate Hlad of Lakewood Baptist Church.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to Lakewood Baptist Church, Lakewood NY or Grace Retirement Homes.
